I moved to Washington because I wanted to experience a vibrant, urban downtown existence. I wanted to live where I had access to restaurants and night life right outside my front door. I wanted to be able to ride my bike around the city or hit the trails for an extended excursion. I wanted to avail myself of the many cultural amenities that Washington offers. Quite simply, I wanted to live in an environment as active and energetic as myself.
DEVELOPING AN OBVIOUS PASSION
It didn’t take long for me to realize my passion for the DC lifestyle. A singer since the third grade, I joined the Washington Men’s Camerata and cherish the opportunity to perform in venues such as the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater. As an avid cyclist, I love riding my bike as much as possible to get around the city. For a fast-paced weekend, I can easily access one of the many trails in the city or in nearby Maryland and Virginia. I’ve enjoyed the many public and private commercial art galleries, as well the vibrant local theater scene, and I love the availability of many international cuisines.
You might say passion and education are twin themes running through my life. My passion for teaching and research led me to get a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in English and Linguistics. I spent 25 years in the training profession, first as a university professor at the University of Texas–Austin, then as a consultant and educator in business and technical communication for high-tech companies in Austin and Washington.
SHARING THE PASSION
My move into real estate was a natural extension of these two themes of passion and education: I am passionate about helping my clients sell or find a home they love in a neighborhood they love. And I especially enjoy the process of educating first-time buyers about one of the most important and largest financial transactions in their lives. Buying or selling a home can be stressful. I am constantly complimented by my clients for my patience, compassion, and humor in the face of stressful circumstances.
TED SMITH SELLS DC
Few people know the intricacies of the Mid-City DC neighborhoods better than I do. You don’t earn a Ph.D. without conducting a lot of research, and I still thrive on the hunt, finding my clients the ideal property to fit their needs or helping sellers determine the perfect price point to maximize their return on investment. I know what it takes to get properties sold and I stand by my clients every step of the way to ensure your transaction is a complete success.
When something as important as your home is at stake, you can’t settle for any ordinary real estate agent. Instead, why not seek out a professional whose passion, knowledge and experience will not only make the process enjoyable, but also achieve the results you desire. If you’re considering a move in Dupont Circle, Logan Circle, the U Street Corridor, Shaw, Mt. Vernon, or anywhere throughout the Mid-City area, just remember these four simple words: Ted Smith Sells DC.
